How to enable show hidden files and folders

 

Some malware can modify Windows settings to disable or prevent users to change setting of Show Hidden Files and Folders under folder options. Even your virus guard remove those suspicious files and clean, the damage caused by the virus cannot be undone. These steps will help you regain access or modify and save the settings, which were damaged by some attacks.

 

 

 

Try one of these methods to recover hidden files option

 

Method 1

  System Restore  
 

System restore is the most reliable way to gain back earlier setting of a computer. To do this you must remember the date that your hidden files option not worked for the first time. If so, restore the computer to a date prior to that date. To start system restore go to Start --> All Programs --> Accessories  --> System Tools --> System Restore. Go to Start --> Run  

»

Type regedit in the text box and press enter. (Registry Editor will be open)  

»

On Registry Editor navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE --> Software --> Microsoft --> Windows --> CurrentVersion --> Explorer --> Advanced --> Folder -->Hidden --> Show All

 

»

On the right pane delete the value with  

 

> Name : CheckedValue

 

 

> Type: REG_SZ

   

 

> Data : 2

   

»

Create a new DWORD. Right-click on the right pane --> New -->DWORD Value    

»

Add following values    

 

> Name : CheckedValue

   
 

> Type: REG_DWORD

   
 

> Data : 1

Save Notepad file as "folderoption.reg" into the desktop

Close Notepad and double click "folderoption.reg" on the desktop

Click "Yes" for the message.

A confirmation message will display and click on "OK"    

»

Now check your folder options to view hidden files.

Great work, the first method worked for me. I restored my computer to a date about 2 months ago. Now everything working perfect. Thanks bro for this useful information. Keep it up.

I tried the second method. But my problem did not solved. Then I tried 3rd method, and very very happy to say it has worked. I was suffering to view hidden files in my computer and initially thought need to format the pc and install windows again. But now everything working and thanks admin for this great job.
